Breeds

There are many different types of guinea pigs. here is a selection of a few to help you decide which breed you want.

Rex: This is a short haired breed named teddie in America. The fur is frizzy and springs back up when touched.

Satin: This is a short haired variety with a wonderful shiny polished look to its` coat.

Standard Self: This one of the most common of all guinea pigs simply as it is just one colour of fur all over. (e.g. black, brown, white).

Abyssinian: This is a short haired breed. It has swirls in its` fur called rosettes. Theses look as if they have crop circles pressed into their fur.

agouti: This is a short haired breed with black and brown tipped fur. There colour resembles that of a wild rabbit or hare.

Himalayan: This is a short white furred breed with a black nose, black feet and Black ears.

Crested: This is a short furred breed with a rosette on its` forehead.

Peruvian: This is a long haired breed which will need more attention than most of the other breeds as with all long haired breeds.
